The Spreaders

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
1By the spreaders spreading.
2And by the carriers of loads.
3And by those moving gently.
4And by the distributors of affairs.
5What you are promised is true.
6Judgment will take place.
7By the sky that is woven.
8You differ in what you say.
9Averted from it is he who is averted.
10Perish the imposters.
11Those who are dazed in ignorance.
12They ask, “When is Judgment Day?”
13The Day they are presented to the Fire.
14“Taste your scheme. This is what you used to challenge.”
15But the cautious will be in gardens and springs.
16Receiving what their Lord has given them. Before this they were virtuous.
17They used to sleep a little at night.
18And at dawn, they would pray for pardon.
19And in their wealth, there was a rightful share for the beggar and the deprived.
20And on earth are signs for the convinced.
21And within yourselves. Do you not see?
22And in heaven is your livelihood, and what you are promised.
23By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is as true as you can speak.
24Did the story of Abraham’s honorable guests reach you?
25When they entered his presence, they said, “Peace.” He said, “Peace, strangers.”
26Then he slipped away to his family, and came with a fattened calf.
27He placed it close to them, and said, “Will you not eat?”
28Then he harbored a fear of them. They said, “Do not fear!” And they gave him the good news of a knowledgeable boy.
29Then His wife came forward screaming, striking her face, and she said, “A barren old woman?”
30They said, “Thus said your Lord. He is the Wise, the Knowing.”
31He said, “What is your mission, O envoys?”
32They said, “We are sent to a guilty people.”
33“To unleash upon them rocks of clay.”
34“Marked by your Lord for the excessive.”
35So We evacuated all the believers who were in it.
36But We found in it only one household of Muslims.
37And We left a sign in it for those who fear the painful punishment.
38And in Moses, when We sent him to Pharaoh, with compelling proof.
39But he turned away with his warlords, and said, “A wizard or a madman.”
40So We seized him and his troops, and We threw them into the sea, and He was to blame.
41And in Aad, when We unleashed against them the devastating wind.
42It spared nothing it came upon—but rendered it like decayed ruins.
43And in Thamood, when it was said to them, “Enjoy yourselves for a while.”
44But they defied the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt struck them as they looked on.
45They were unable to rise, nor could they help one another.
46And before that, the people of Noah. They were immoral people.
47We constructed the universe with power, and We are expanding it.
48And the earth—We spread it out—how well We prepared it!
49And of all things, We created two mates, so that you may reflect and ponder.
50“So flee towards Allah. I am to you from Him a clear warner.”
51“And do not set up another god with Allah. I am to you from Him a clear warner.”
52Likewise, no messenger came to those before them, but they said, “A magician or a madman.”
53Did they recommend it to one another? In fact, they are tyrannical people.
54So turn away from them; you are not to blame.
55And remind, as the reminder benefits the believers.
56I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.
57I need no livelihood from them, nor do I need them to feed Me.
58Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of Strength, the Firm.
59Those who do wrong will have their turn, like the turn of their counterparts, so let them not rush Me.
60So woe to those who disbelieve from their day which they are promised.
