The Dawn

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
1By the dawn.
2And ten nights.
3And the even and the odd.
4And the night as it recedes.
5Is there an oath in that for a rational person?
6Did you not see how your Lord dealt with Aad?
7Erum of the pillars.
8The like of which was never created in the land.
9And Thamood—those who carved out the rocks in the Valley.
10And Pharaoh of the Stakes.
11Those who committed excesses in the lands.
12And spread much corruption in it.
13So your Lord poured down on them a scourge of punishment.
14Your Lord is on the lookout.
15As for the human being, whenever his Lord tests him, and honors him, and prospers him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.”
16But whenever He tests him, and He restricts his livelihood for him, he says, “My Lord has disgraced me.”
17Not at all. But you are not generous towards the orphan.
18And you do not urge the feeding of the poor.
19And you devour inheritance with all greed.
20And you love wealth with immense love.
21No—when the earth is pounded, crushed, and leveled.
22And your Lord comes, with the angels, row after row.
23And on that Day, Hell will be brought. On that Day, the human being will remember, but how will remembrance avail him?
24He will say, “If only I had forwarded for my life.”
25On that Day, none will punish as He punishes.
26And none will shackle as He shackles.
27But as for you, O tranquil soul.
28Return to your Lord, pleased and accepted.
29Enter among My worshipers.
30Enter My Garden.
